Where to put a watermark so it actually protects
Removal tools are best at small marks in corners over plain background, as the demo above shows. A mark that crosses the subject, repeats across the frame, or sits over detail is much harder to remove cleanly. The trade-off is that it also gets in the way of enjoying the photo. For portfolio previews use tiled at 15–25% opacity. For social posts a small corner credit is enough.
