Which method to pick
- Erase: patch-based inpainting on every frame. Best looking, and slower on long GIFs.
- Fill from edges: a fast blend from the box border. Good for small marks on plain backgrounds.
- Blur / pixelate: hides the mark without pretending it was never there.
Limits
The first 300 frames are kept, and the result is re-quantised to a 256-colour palette per frame, which is what the GIF format allows. Transparent GIFs are flattened. For long or high-resolution animations, convert to MP4 and use the video remover.
Your own content
Use these tools on files you made or have the right to edit. A watermark often identifies the creator or tells viewers that something was made with AI. Removing it from someone else’s work, or to pass AI content off as real, can break copyright law and platform rules.
Questions
How do I remove a watermark from a GIF?
Open it here, place the box over the mark, and press Clean all frames. The cleaned GIF keeps its frame timing.
Will the GIF lose quality?
Each frame gets its own 256-colour palette, as in most GIF encoders, so quality stays close to the original. File size may change.
